| Multifunction DAQ All multifunction data acquisition boards come with a TestPoint runtime program and provides access to all hardware subsystems including A/D, D/A, DIO and Counter Timer.
The runtime is a stand alone program developed with TestPoint and can be modified to suit individual needs with the TestPoint Editor. | TESTPOINT Software Analog to Digital Conversion TestPoint provides high-level A/D functions to simplify data acquisition. A/D samples can be scaled, offset or linearized as single samples or vectors then plotted either as a static graph or strip chart. A/D samples can be displayed and graphed with just two action lines. A/D Multitasking
TestPoint can acquire data from multiple sources while processing A/D entries in real time. For example, TestPoint can update a DMM reading while adding points to a strip chart from an A/D card. You can acquire data while running other Windows applications. Speed
A/D cards operate at their full specified speeds under TestPoint so that data rates are limited only by the hardware chosen for the task. Digital to Analog Conversion
TestPoint provides high-speed control of D/A cards for control systems and generation and editing of arbitrary waveforms. Sine, ramp, triangle, and square waves, amplitude and burst modulation and arbitrary waveforms of unlimited length and variety are just a few of the features TestPoint offers. TestPoint includes examples for PID control, thermocouples, strip charts, XY charts, and much more. TestPoint supports all the functions and commands of all IEEE-488, RS232 and RS485 instruments. Speed and Versatility
TestPoint brings extraordinary capability to VISA, IEEE-488, RS232, and with one of the optional toolkits, Ethernet instrument control. The goal of making instruments easy to program has finally been achieved. Data transfer, serial and parallel polling, triggering, and all IEEE-488 commands are accessed with a single click. You can also package instrument commands of your choice so that often used commands are immediately available as a drop-down list. Special requirements like individual instrument timeouts are easily customized from a checklist. Building a VISA interface provides hardware independence when switching from one type of interface to another. All of the functions of the IEEE-488 (HP-IB, GP-IB) bus are available and there are no compromises in speed. Using our 488EX card, sustained data rates over 1 Mbyte/second are as easy as clicking on output or enter. Productivity enhancements include the ability to automatically read and convert data of any format. TestPoint will also sort through combinations of strings, ASCII numeric, and binary data to let you breeze through the toughest data formatting problems. Universal Instrument Library
The GP-IB and RS232 instrument objects in TestPoint support all instruments, all functions and all commands. TestPoint provides hundreds of instrument-specific objects (DMM’s, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.) for your convenience. RS232 and RS485 Communications
Serial communication functions are available from a drop down list to support up to nine communication ports with custom settings for timeouts, I/O delimiters, queue size and event signaling. TestPoint provides standard and advanced math functions. Logical and string operators. Scalar, vector, array and list processing. Refer to our specifications page for a complete function list. Mathematics
TestPoint’s Math Object let's you calculate simple or complex formulas with any number of variables. Arithmetic, modulo operators, exponentiation, comparisons, logic operators, vector replacements, string, trigonometric, and log functions are all available. FFT’s and inverse FFT’s, filters and other advanced functions provide fast data analysis and the list of math functions is constantly growing. The TestPoint math interface has been carefully researched to provide maximum benefit for minimum time investment. You can drag and drop variables without retyping, it takes just two lines to graph an FFT and TestPoint handles string variables as easily as numbers. Math functions are represented just as you would write them and functions can apply to numbers, vectors and arrays. Simple or complex formulas are built quickly with clear understandable names and without selecting, connecting or drawing additional icons. Extend the built in capability of TestPoint through industry standard software interfaces such as OLE, ActiveX controls, VBX controls, a built-in MATLAB object, and more. Many commercial suppliers of third party controls plug right into TestPoint and look for all intents and purposes like built in TestPoint objects, but extend the boundaries beyond the standard environment. Information access is the key to rapid test setup, execution and problem resolution. Walk through any test department and you'll find drawings, notes, and pictures. Information that needed for all kinds of tests. TestPoint gives you immediate access to that information. There is no limit to the size, color or complexity of drawings that TestPoint can manage. If you can put it in your computer you can display it with TestPoint. Once your information is in TestPoint you can quickly share it locally or across a network with Excel and Word by using the Excel and Word objects to link directly to document files. TestPoint handles multiple files in one or more display panels and information can be made visible or hidden in milliseconds so that you don't have to wait. TestPoint is the key to rapid information access. From digital I/O to pictures or schematics, TestPoint can handle all of your information processing, display and transmission needs. Hardware VAR's and OEM’s
